New look!

Oh I got mightily bored with the old layout and tried to jazz it up a bit with the template designer...however, I'm still not 100% happy with the way it looks. At least I have one of my own pretty pictures in the background though! Bear with me whilst I mess around with it periodically!

So, I ventured out to Highbury Park this afternoon, with my phat camera, with intentions to take some magical pictures of this Winter Wonderland that Birmingham has become. There were lots of kids in the park sledging, people out with their dogs, a man playing his Swiss horn and parakeets in the trees. I also passed a family out with a stove/bbq- smelt like they were roasting chestnuts! Yes, just another normal Sunday afternoon in the suburbs of Birmingham...

There's a tiny figure in between the two trees in the photograph below - that was the man with his Swiss horn!

I am ashamed to admit that this was the first time I visited my local park (it's literally a 5 minute walk from my flat). Perhaps it wasn't the best time for me to go exploring as all the paths were covered in snow - as was the lake. Lucky I noticed the red life-saving ring beside  the frozen lake, otherwise I would have quite jollily walked over to explore this large frozen puddle. It was such a beautiful sight - to see everything covered in a layer of thick, fluffy snow - made me forget all about this 'recession', tuition fee palava, nuclear war etc. etc. I wonder - if our world looked like this all the time, whether we'd treat each other a little better...?

The photo below is the 'lake'!

I could only last an hour with my feet under the fluffy snow- even with two pairs of socks on (one pair were thermal!), my tootsies were getting a little nippy so I had return my central-heated flat!
